Apartment layout

The apartments all have a similar layout: two bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom and a living room with an open kitchen. They all have a private terrace looking out onto the charming patio or communal garden. The apartments are spread out over four floors, and reached via the authentic staircase.

Studio layout

The studio has an open living room, kitchen and bedroom with en suite bathroom. Next to the bed is a large sliding window, which opens onto the cosy private terrace looking out onto the beautiful garden.

Comfort

The living room and the bedrooms have both air conditioning and heating. The bathrooms are equipped with a towel heater, so you’ll have a lovely warm towel when you step out of the shower. Thanks to good insulation and high quality solar control windows, indoor temperatures will always be comfortable.

Amenities

In each apartment we provide hand soap, dish soap, kitchen towels, bin bags, sugar, condiments, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, shower caps, and toilet paper.

We also offer more elaborate amenities upon request and there is a small shop just 30 metres away.

The bedroom

Based on your personal preference, we will provide the desired beds: king-size double or separate twin beds. The beds are fitted with high quality mattresses and bed linen, and will be made upon arrival.

The bathroom

The bathrooms are equipped with a rain shower, hand shower, thermostatic faucet, hair dryer and electric towel rack. Towels are also provided, both for shower and pool or beach use.

The kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary basic amenities to self-cater, should you wish to do so. Dishwasher, microwave oven, induction cooker, water heater, coffee maker (Delta Q) and a small refrigerator with built-in freezer are all provided. Kitchen utensils, plates and cutlery are of course also available.

The spacious open living room

Every apartment has a spacious, open living room at its centre, leading to each of the rooms and en suite bathrooms. This means you won’t disturb any other guests when you move between your own room, the living room and the terrace.

The terrace

Each apartment has its own private terrace. The first floor terrace opens onto the patio, which leads up to the garden and the pool via an outdoor staircase. On the second floor the terrace opens directly onto the garden. Guests on the third floor reach the garden via the indoor stairs and the patio.

The patio

On the first floor of the house you’ll find our charming patio. Enjoy the tranquillity and cool off in the shade provided by the exotic acacia tree with its beautiful red flowers. From the patio, an outdoor staircase leads you up to the garden and pool.

The garden

Because the house was built on a hill, the garden is actually located on the second floor. Our guests are free to access the garden and have free use of the loungers. Feel free to pick some fruits from the old lemon and mandarine trees and have a taste. Bougainvilleas, paradise flowers, palm trees and fragrant rosemary: you can admire them all in our garden.

The swimming pool

Our beautiful garden has a 16 metre long pool, surrounded by exotic flowers, palm trees and fruit trees. The depth of the pool ranges from 1,10 to 1,40 metres, so that you can swim laps but also stand easily. The pool itself is slightly higher than the garden and is accessed by two closable gates. It is shared with the other guests.

Fire safety

Each floor has a fire extinguisher in the stairwell. Smoke detectors have been installed throughout the building, leading to a central alarm system. The stairwell and shared spaces have emergency lighting, providing enough light to find your way out in case of a power cut.

Wood-panelled room/Lounge

The house was originally built by a wealthy Portuguese family. We’ve preserved a very special element from this time: a room that seems to be covered in wooden panels, an optical illusion created with paint. These days you can only find these rooms in ‘palácios’ or ‘palacetes’ in Lisbon, so we’re very pleased to have been able to restore its authentic beauty and make it accessible to all.

Library

Between the first and second floor sits the library, where you can browse through all sorts of (mostly Dutch) books and some travel guides on Lisbon and Portugal. Take a look on our terrace on the street side or relax and sink into the comfy sofa.
